BIOGRAPHY:

Dr. Hajime Eto is a professor emeritus, the University of Tsukuba, Tsukuba Science City, Japan. After Tsukuba, he taught the innovation theory and quality management in service at Chiba University of Economics, Chiba, Japan. Since the student days with the University of Tokyo, he has been interested in the methodology of sciences such as logic and the philosophy of science, particularly in the methodologies of new interdisciplinary sciences such as computer language, operations research, policy science, and innovation studies. He has served for international scientific circles by publishing over 80 papers (mostly, single-authored) in the relevant scientific journals as well as several books from North-Holland, Elsevier, IGI Global, etc. During and retiring from the teaching job, he is serving for several international journals as the editorial board member such as International Journal of Services Technology and Management, International Journal of Foresight and Innovation Policy (both Inderscience), Scientometrics (Kluwer-Springer), Information and Management (Elsevier), International Journal of Social Science and Humanity, International Journal of Social Science. His activity includes the mathematical approaches to crime analysis such as H. Eto and J. Sano (first author in joint authorship): Analyses of Crime Control by Total Criminal Justice System Model of Feedback Type with Aging Effect Considered, International Journal of Systems Science, vol. 19, pp. 2507 - 2521, 1988. In editing journals he has tried to promote interdisciplinary approaches.  Extending his original  works on computational logic and judgement, he is now interested in legal aspects in criminal justice system.

RESEARCH INTERESTS:

Dr. Hajime’s interested in the methodology of sciences such as logic and the philosophy of science, particularly in the methodologies of new interdisciplinary sciences such as computer language, operations research, policy science, and innovation studies
