BIOGRAPHY:
Dr. Maatouk Khoukhi is currently working as an Associate Professor in Architectural Engineering Department at United Arab Emirates University, Arab Emirates. He received his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Tohoku University (Japan) in 2004. He earned his doctorate in Mechanical Engineering from Tohoku University-Japan in collaboration with New South Wales University-Australia. He has a long record of academic and industrial experience in thermo-fluids, solar energy, and building energy, teaching, research, and services and he has a long experience with ABET accreditation. From 1993-2000, He worked as a research associate in the Solar and Thermal Conversion Laboratory at the Development Centre of Renewable Energy (CDER).
Dr. Maatouk Khoukhi was appointed as Research Fellow at Tohoku University and he did extensive experimental research on the solar desiccant cooling system. In 2006 he was appointed as a Faculty at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Mineral (KFUPM) in Saudi Arabia and then in 2009 at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) in Oman. He also held visiting faculty appointments at the Building Research Centre (CSTB) France, University of Sydney, and the University of Sharjah.
Dr. Maatouk Khoukhi research work has been supported by several grants from Samsung, NEDO, and universities’ internal and external grants. The total budget of his projects exceeds 3.5 Million USD. He published more than 60 journal and conference papers and he is a reviewer for several journals in his field of specialization.
