BIOGRAPHY:
Dr. Alireza Jahan-mihan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of North Florida. He has more than twenty years’ experience in research, food industry and clinical practice. He completed his doctoral degree at the University of Toronto in the field of Nutrition. He received many awards and grants US. Grant; Faculty Development Scholarship Grant from University of North Florida in 2013 and The Christine Gagnon Memorial Travel award, CSNS in 2008, etc.He has several publications in peer reviewed journals and he is a member of several professional organizations.
Dr. Alireza Jahan-mihan’s goal is to discover the role of functional foods in health and diseases. The specific focus of his research program is on physiological and nutritional functions of dietary proteins and peptides. Both animal and clinical approaches are applied to reveal underlying mechanisms of functional foods and also to examine the applicability of research outcomes. His research interests also includes Dietary proteins, Development, Aging, Food intake regulatory system, Metabolic syndrome, obesity.
