    BIOGRAPHY:

    Marina Charitou is an Associate Professor at SUNY Stony Brook Medicine, USA. She acted as a Medical Director at Stony Brook Specialty Care and also as a Program Director, Associate Program Director at Endocrinology Fellowship, SUNY Stony Brook Medicine.  She pursued NSLIJ Endocrinology Fellowship during 2004-2006. She received many honors and awards Stony Brook Women in Medicine Research Finalist Maffetone Community Service Award, Department of Medicine, Educator of the Year Award, Leaders in Medical Education Fellowship Award, Jedan Phillips Distinguished Service Award.

    Marina Chari tou published articles in many journals and attended many workshops, seminars. She is involved in teaching activities, acted as Chair, Speaker, Volunteer in Community services.

    RESEARCH INTERESTS:

    Marina Charitou research interests include endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism, thyroid cancer, thyroid molecular markers, advances in diabetes technology, sonographic pattern of thyroid nodules for prediction of malignancy etc.
